World Premiere of Kahlil Gebran's The Prophet with Salma Hayek

The world premiere of the animated movie Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet took place at Beirut Souks Cinema City on Monday April 27th in the presence of producer Salma Hayek Pinault, composer Gabriel Yared and director Roger Allers, as well as other award winning members of the movie’s team.

FFA Private Bank, as executive producer and major investor in the film, was proud to host the Red Carpet event along with distributors Fathallah Films.

The Prophet is one of the best-selling books of all time, having sold over 100 million copies since its original publication in 1923. The Lebanese-born Gibran is the third most-read poet in history; his works have been translated into more than 40 languages. Gibran Khalil Gibran’s 89-year-old classic The Prophet has been adapted to the big screen as an animated movie involving internationally acclaimed and award-winning filmmakers from around the globe, under the direction of Roger Allers (The Lion King) and the leadership of Salma Hayek, the producer, alongside Clark Peterson, Jose Tamez and Ron Senkowski, with music composed by Oscar-winner Gabriel Yared. The animated film “The Prophet” was also partially screened at the Cannes Festival’s “Homage au cinema d’animation” official ceremony.
